Contract rates are rising
Median contract rates climbed across every senior role this year, led by specialized work like smart-contract and platform engineering. Remote demand from outside the region is part of the story, but so is regional companies finally paying closer to market.
Full-time vs. remote-for-export
Developers who work remotely for companies abroad still earn the most in absolute terms, but the gap with strong regional employers is narrowing. For many, same-timezone work and a shorter commute to nowhere win out.
Use these numbers as a floor, not a ceiling. If your work is excellent and you can prove it, charge accordingly.
